PennyWizard is a personal budgeting app. This policy explains what it collects, why, who else touches that data, and how you get it back or delete it.
PennyWizard is operated by Kevin Tellez, acting as an individual (persona natural) based in Colombia. For the purposes of Colombian Law 1581 of 2012, that individual is the data controller (responsable del tratamiento).

Account information, handled by our authentication provider: your email address, your name if you provide one, and the identifiers needed to keep you signed in. PennyWizard never sees or stores your password.
The financial information you enter yourself. This is the substance of the app and it stays yours:
PennyWizard does not connect to your bank. It has no open banking integration, no screen scraping and no credentials to any financial institution.
It does not store card numbers, CVVs, account numbers or any other payment instrument. A "payment method" in PennyWizard is a label you type in so you can group your own spending — nothing more.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
To keep the service working and safe we process a small amount of technical data: your IP address, used for rate limiting so one client cannot overwhelm the API; and diagnostic data when something breaks, such as the error, the page it happened on and your account identifier.
Error reports are deliberately scrubbed before they leave the application. Your account identifier is the only identifier allowed through — request bodies and user profile fields are stripped.
To provide the service you signed up for: storing and showing your budgets, categories and transactions, and keeping them scoped to your account alone.
To keep the service secure and available: authentication, rate limiting and abuse prevention.
To fix defects: when the app throws an error, we need enough context to find the cause.
We rely on your consent, given when you create an account and accept this policy, and on the legitimate need to deliver a service you asked for.
Running PennyWizard requires a handful of third-party providers. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job:
Our providers operate infrastructure outside Colombia, primarily in the United States. By using PennyWizard you accept that your data is transferred to and stored in those jurisdictions, under the protections each provider offers.
Your budgets, transactions and preferences are kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the data belonging to it is removed from our database.
Operational records live on shorter clocks: server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a period measured in days, and diagnostic error reports are retained by Sentry according to its own retention schedule.
Under Colombian Law 1581 of 2012 and its implementing decrees you may, at any time:
Write to privacy@pennywizard.app and we will respond within the timeframes set by Colombian law — fifteen business days for a request to access your data, and fifteen business days for a correction or deletion claim, extendable once with notice.
We are also building these into the app itself so you do not have to ask anyone: an in-app export of everything you have entered, and a self-service account deletion.
PennyWizard uses cookies and browser storage only for things the app needs in order to work: keeping you signed in, remembering whether you prefer light or dark mode, and measuring aggregate site traffic.
There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking.
PennyWizard is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, write to privacy@pennywizard.app and we will remove it.
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect.
